Frequently Asked Question
What is Secure Label, and how is it different from traditional labeling software?
Secure Label is a modern, standalone labeling solution developed by RFgen. Unlike traditional labeling platforms, Secure Label is quick to deploy, easy to use, and priced with a flat-rate subscription model. It eliminates complex licensing, reduces implementation overhead, and includes zero-trust security architecture, all backed by RFgen’s 40+ years of enterprise experience.
Does Secure Label require ERP integration?
No. Secure Label is a standalone solution that can operate independently of an ERP. However, it can support ERP-driven workflows through file triggers, API calls, and data uploads, depending on your setup.
How is Secure Label priced?
Secure Label uses a flat-rate subscription model, priced per printer. There are no per-user or per-feature add-ons, which means you get full access to the product’s capabilities without unexpected charges or tiered pricing models.
What industries is Secure Label built for?
Secure Label is purpose-built for all industries. But, industries with high-volume, compliance-sensitive, or distributed labeling needs including manufacturing, aerospace and defense, chemicals, government, food and beverage, mining and metals, and health and life sciences specifically benefit from Secure Label.
What kind of security does Secure Label offer?
Secure Label includes multiple layers of security to help protect labeling workflows and system access. REST communication is secured over HTTPS, with administrator-managed SSL certificates and support for both self-signed and CA-issued certificates. REST clients can authenticate using cryptographically signed JWT tokens, which are verified with strong public-key cryptography and issued through Secure Label Console.
Access to Secure Label Service endpoints can be restricted to authorized clients with valid signed tokens, while Secure Label Console is designed for administrator use and runs with elevated Windows privileges. Secure Label also provides audit logging for print job submissions, status changes, errors, and configuration updates, with records persisted to the operational database for review and troubleshooting.
How long does it take to deploy Secure Label?
In most cases, Secure Label can be deployed in a matter of days. We offer fast implementation timelines without the need for heavy middleware or long-term projects.
What kind of support do partners and customers receive?
Secure Label is backed by RFgen’s global support network. We provide full onboarding, free product training, and hands-on assistance through our certified partner program.
Can Secure Label support mobile or remote printing?
Yes. Secure Label is optimized for mobile teams and remote locations. You can print directly from tablets, handheld devices, mobile scanners, or desktop systems.
How does Secure Label help with compliance?
Secure Label supports compliance workflows with features like audit trails, role-based approvals, encrypted data handling, and template control—helping meet FDA, GHS, ITAR, and other standards.
What are the benefits of becoming a Secure Label reseller or partner?
Our partner program includes high-margin incentives, free product training and enablement, fast sales cycles, and full rollout support. It's a modern labeling solution that’s easy to sell and support.
How do business systems submit print jobs to Secure Label?
Applications can submit print jobs through a REST API using HTTPS and JSON payloads, or through watch-folder file drops for systems that already generate label files.
What types of printers does Secure Label support?
Secure Label supports industrial label printers using native command languages, including Zebra ZPL II, Honeywell IPL, and Epson ESC/Label. It also supports Zebra WebLink cloud-connected printers and any Windows-driver printer.
